The Socratic Method
A central part of working in IT is making sure to take people along on the journey, explain complex topics in a way that non-tech people can follow and understand the implications of what you're saying. This is certainly a challenge each and every time, and there are many ways to succeed.
A well-known and ancient way is the Socratic method, e. g. teaching not by explaining but by asking questions. How this works can be seen in this grandiose example where eight-year-old children are tought binary math:
